About the authors:

Dr. Dmitry Shevela
Obtained BSc (Biology and Chemistry) in 2002 from Kaluga State University in Russia. PhD (in Biological Chemistry), in 2008, from the Technical University of Berlin (Germany) on: "The role of inorganic cofactors in photosynthetic water oxidation". Currently Senior Research Engineer in the Department of Chemistry at Umeå University. The book contains many of Shevela illustrations. 

Prof. Lars Olof Björn
Undergraduate studies in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Botany, at the University of Lund (Sweden) and at the University of California Berkeley (USA). PhD on "The effects of light on root plastids" under supervision of Hans Burström. Author of a very popular book "Light and Life",  published in five languages. He is now Professor Emeritus of Botany at Lund University and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. 

Prof. Govindjee
Is known as Mr. Photosynthesis. He has a unique teaching approach, to explain photosynthesis through drama, where the students play the roles of different molecules. He studied Plant Physiology at Allahabad University and Biophysics at the University of Illinois of Urbana Champaign (UIUC), where he since 1999 is Professor Emeritus of Plant Biology and Biochemistry and Biophysics.
