Confirmed reactivity Escherichia coli

Application examples

Application examples Western blot using RecA antibodies

Samples of 2 µg of: Purified RecA protein, 8 ng (1), Crude extract of E.coli wild type (2), recA mutant (3), lexA mutant (SOS genes overexpressed) (4).  Following transfer to PVDF membrane, it was blocked with 5 % non-fat milk. The primary antibody was used at 1: 3000. Visualization was done using chemiluminescence.

Background

Background RecA (Recombinase A) plays critically important roles in homologous recombination, recombination repair and regulation of cellular responses to DNA damage (SOS response). RecA promotes auto-cleavage of LexA repressor by its coprotease activity after DNA damage, and induces many proteins related to DNA repair including RecA itself.
