Application examples

Application examples detection of transfected LST-1-c-Myc in HEK-293 cells using anti-c-Myc mouse monoclonal antibodies

Flow cytometry experiment: detection of transfected LST-1-c-Myc in HEK-293 cells (red) compared with nontransfected HEK-293 cells (black) using mouse monoclonal anti-c-Myc (clone 9E10).

Additional information

Immunohistochemistry (paraffin sections): positive control tissue: perfused brain sections, liver, spleen.
Immunoprecipitation note: this antibody will not  immunoprecipitate native c-Myc protein.
Flow cytometry note: Intracellular or extracellular staining, depends upon particular expression.

Background

Background c-Myc is derived from Myc proto-oncogene protein. The c-Myc protein is a transcription factor (nuclear localization). c-Myc is commonly activated in a variety of tumor cells and plays an important role in cellular proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis and cell cycle progression. A short peptide was used as an epitope tag, that is easily recognized by tag specific antibodies. This is a universal detection reagent which will allow detection of any c-Myc tag containing protein.
