TRF1 (Telomeric repeat-binding factor 1) is a component of telesome which is involved in the regulation of telomere lenght and protection of chromosomes. TRF1 binds double-stranded 5'-TTAGGG-3' repeat on telomers and negatively regulates the lenght of telomers.

Application example:
Immunofluorescence using mouse anti-TRF1 antibody
Adult mouse testis spermatocytes were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100  for 10 minutes and blocked for 1 hour at room temperature with a blocking solution (3% BSA and 0.015% Triton X-100). Samples were then incubated with the mouse TRF1 serum (diluted 1:500 in blocking solution)  overnight at 4°C. An Alexa Fluor®594-conjugated mouse IgG was used at dilution at 1:500 as secondary antibody. Samples were sequentially stained with Rabbit SCP3 antibody to localize meiotic chromosomes.
