Background NifU-like protein 1, chloroplastic encodes a protein containing the NFU domain that may be involved in iron-sulfur cluster assembly. NFU1 is a part of a  five member gene family, more closely related to NFU2 and 3 than to NFU4 and 5. Targeted to the chloroplast. Alternative names: CNfu1, AnfU-IVb.

application example

western blot using anti-NFU1 antibodies
3 μg of total protein from Arabidopsis thaliana  extracted with were separated on 15 % SDS-PAGE and blotted 1h to PVDF. Blots were blocked with 10% skimmed milk for 1h at room temperature (RT) with agitation. Blot was incubated in the primary antibody at a dilution of 1: 1 000 overnight at 4°C with  agitation. The antibody solution was decanted and the blot was rinsed briefly twice, then washed twice for 15 min and 4 times for 5 min in TBS-T at RT with agitation. Blot was incubated in secondary antibody (Goat anti Rabbit HRP) diluted to 1:15 000 in TBS-T for 1h at RT with agitation. The blot was washed as above and developed for 5 min with ECL according to the manufacturer's instructions. Exposure time was 30 seconds.
