Why should we pay attention to membrane washes?

In the presented example, both membranes were prepared with the same set of samples, on the same day, and the whole Western blot procedure was the same except the applied membrane wash.

Membrane A
1x15 min in TBS at room temperature
3x5 min in TBS at room temperature

Membrane B
4x5 min in TBS at room temperature
