PSI (Photosystem I)

PSI/PSII ratio can be estimated once a quantitative immunoblot for PsaC (AS10 939) and for either PsbA (AS05 084) or PsbD (AS06 146), is performed in 3-4 replicates. Ratio calculation is done on a sample by sample basis. These ratios are based on the subunits present, whether they are in the assembled photosystem or not. Under some circumstances (eg. high light), there are biological reasons that the subunit numbers do not necessarily match the functional photosystems.
