Jan Andersson Award of the Australian Society of Plant Scientists, supported by Agrisera has been awarded to Assoc Prof Jenny Mortimer

This year's Jan Anderson Award, granted by the Australian Society of Plant Scientists was awarded to Associate Prof. Jenny Mortimer from School of Agriculture, Food and Wine of the University of Adelaide, Australia. Her group uses synthetic biology to develop new crops for food, and materials production, in controlled growth environments. This award acknowledges talented female plant science researchers, and is sponsored by Agrisera.

Protein Extraction: Frist Step to Successful Downstream Application, Agrisera Educational Poster 8

Agrisera's Educational Poster number 8 is the first poster in our collection that focuses on methods of protein extraction. The content was developed in a collaboration between Agrisera's Technical Support Manager Dr. Joanna Porankiewicz-Asplund, and researchers with a long experience with protein extraction; Dr. André Graça, Prof. Antje Heese, Prof. Martha Ludwig and prof. Wolfgang Schröder. The contents were transferred into the graphical representation by Dr. Dmitry Shevela (SciGrafik, Sweden).

You are welcome to download the pdf or request a hard copy of this very informative poster! The poster also contains a link and QR code to a collection of protocols and references, for protein extraction methods from various plant species, organs and cellular compartments.

If you have any comments or suggestions, we are always eager to hear them. You are welcome to contact us!

Agrisera at the conference of the German Society of Plant Sciences

Agrisera participated in the International Conference of the German Society for Plant Sciences (DBG). The event took place at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany, between the 15th and 19th of September. Hundreds of enthusiastic plant scientists attended the meeting, which covered a wide range of topics, including biotechnology, cell biology, communication and dynamics of plant organelles, navigating abiotic challenges, and plant development, to name a few.

Agrisera's 8th Educational Poster, focused on Protein Extraction, received a lot of attention. As did our other posters, on the topics of photosynthesis and epigenetics.

There were many interesting discussions, suggestions and questions from visitors to Agrisera's booth, which we are very grateful for. We are always looking forward to meeting end users of Agrisera antibodies, as well as those who are considering future antibody work. Agrisera supports your research, not only with suitable products, but also technical support and troubleshooting.

Agrisera had a fortune wheel at our booth, which visitors could spin to receive help with common questions related to plant science and antibody techniques. Doing this, the participant also had a chance to win a free antibody of their choice from the Agrisera catalog. The fortune wheel was busy, and the winners of free antibodies will be revealed at the end of the week.

Agrisera at Plant Meiosis meeting

Agrisera participated in the Plant Meiosis meeting, held between the 4th and 6th of September, at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. The meeting gathered enthusiastic researchers from the plant meiosis community, and was packed with interesting talks and poster sessions.

Two Agrisera's Best Poster Prizes were awarded to: Hasibe Tuncay from Universität Hamburg in Germany, for the poster: "DREAMing Meiosis: Transcriptional Control of Male Meiosis by DREAM-complex in Arabidopsis thaliana" and Côme Emmenecker from Université Paris-Saclay, INRAE for the poster "Multiple factors counteract FIGL1 activity to promote meiotic
DSB repair".

Agrisera had a fortune wheel at our booth, which visitors could spin to receive help with common questions related to plant science and antibody techniques. Doing this, the participant also had a chance to win a free antibody of their choice from the Agrisera catalog. This activity was very popular, and a queue was even formed of people looking to try their luck.

Thank you for very interesting interactions!

Agrisera at Plant Energy Management meeting in Umeå

Agrisera participated in the Plant energy management, molecular mechanisms and signalling conference, held between 27th and 30th of August at Umeå University, Sweden. Over the last 40 years, Agrisera has developed strong collaborations with researchers from this local university, and we are always eager to support and participate in the local conferences.

Agrisera's Best Poster Prize was awarded to Maroof Ahmed Shaikh from the group Light and temperature control of plant development at the Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG), Spain. His poster title was:

"Unleashing the Light Dependent Role of GIGANTEA : Orchestrating Tuberization and Meristem Activity in Potatoes".

As the winner, he will be granted a free antibody of his choice from the Agrisera catalog.

Good luck with your research, and we are awaiting your fee antibody choice!
